by Sean Hollick
I laid beside the soothing brook
reading a most beautiful book
bubbling water rushing over the stones
as I lay there resting my weary bones.

Rejoicing with those of another time
this glorious bond my only crime
nibbling on berries which I had brought
life could be so peaceful, or so thought.

Little animals who came to drink
sipped the cool water making me think
were they afraid to have me here
in their forest with water crystal clear?

To quench my thirst when it is hot
I shall remember this secluded spot
a last look before I go away
to remember a quiet place, I shall return one day.
